LUKE HERBERT

Introducing Luke Herbert, an Australian session drummer, percussionist and Educator whose musical voyage transcends borders, originating from the culturally rich backdrop of Sydney, Australia. Luke’s journey commenced at a precocious age, formally studying classical piano grades, laying the groundwork for his international acclaim in the years to follow.
 
His teenage years saw him in accepted in the Worlds largest Marching band – the 2000-member Olympic Band under the tutelage of David Glyde (Blue Devils) to captivating audiences at the Sydney 2000 opening Ceremony Olympics performing to 140k people and to millions across the globe on TV, Luke’s musicianship has garnered recognition on a global scale. Venturing abroad to Nashville, In his mid 20’s Luke found himself amidst the luminaries of some of Nashvilles most respected musicians and producers.  He joined rock n roll band “The Deep Vibration” and shortly after joining the band, Dual Tone Records signed them to a record deal. Icon Lou Reed named the band after meeting after his show at the Ryman In Nashville. He further got to record with the band working along side legendary session musicians Al Perkins (Flying Burritos Brothers), Spooner Oldham (Aretha Franklin , Percy Sledge, Neil young) and grammy award winning producer Niko Bolas ( Neil Young , Bob Dylan)

With a distinguished portfolio, Luke has collaborated in Australia with a prestigious roster of artists, including Music Industry iconic figures like Brian Cadd, Stevie Wright (The Easybeats), and for Lucky Oceans Album Launch at Tamworth Country Music Festival which saw Luke playing along side Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers, Bill Chambers, Don Walker (Cold Chisel) and Catherine Britt, elevating his reputation as a consummate professional in the music industry. He has also worked with award winning artists such as William Crighton, Fanny Lumsden, Phil Manning (Chain), Mal Eastick (Jimmy Barnes), Buddy Knox, Ray Beadle, Kevin Bennet and The Flood to name only a few.
Presently, Luke has been writing, recording, producing and touring across Australia & Internationally with the one and only OG Red Wiggle, Murray Cook and his band Soul Movers, showcasing his unparalleled talent and enriching the global music landscape since 2020 with his exceptional performances. Luke recently produced a session in Nashville for the band with the Memphis Horns and called in his old friend , Pedal Steel player Spencer Cullum who tours with country star Miranda Lambert.
Luke also travelled to Memphis TN to play drums at the Iconic, Royal studios, working alongside Grammy Winning producer Boo Lawrence Mitchell for the bands album “Dumb Luck” (released on Cheersquad records, 2023)
Luke also regularly plays with up and coming musicians Jesse Redwing Band & Tate Sheridan and has recorded records with both artists at iconic Sydney studio – Golden Retreviour Studios, which were both released in 2024.
 Luke also enjoys playing with up and coming songwriter, Ohioan – Charlie Finn. If that wasn’t enough, Luke has also started a new band in 2024 (Soul Xpress) with legendary Australian Soul Singer Shauna Jensen ( Richard Clapton, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, Billy Thorpe).
 
As a testament to his mastery, Luke stands as an epitome of musical excellence, revered both at home and abroad.
